If you are a classical artist looking for a more contemporary style, an MT or Pop belter after a sweeter sound, or an actor or dancer looking to expand your skill set, you have the most versatile instrument there is, and I can absolutely help you to sound like you want to be heard.
Industry experience in performing, training undergraduates at top level drama schools, as well as extensive knowledge of the weird science that makes voices work…( and some of it’s really weird!)…enables me to help you take your vocals way past the next level. Oh… and also… it’s my favourite thing to do !!
We make sure your lessons are designed to help you achieve your own vocal goals, for example:
- Releasing Vocal Tension
- Blending away any breaks or bridges in your voice.
- Building up your vocal strength and stamina
- Preparing for an audition or recording session.
- Performance and styling coaching
Plus anything else we might focus on in order to help you become a relaxed and confident performer.
As an experienced singing teacher, musical director and workshop leader I truly believe that everyone can improve their ability and increase their love of singing with a little help.
I have worked extensively as a musical director in theatre, I teach at Italia Conti, work with choirs, recording artists, corporate shows & PR stunts, flash-mobs and viral campaigns, and have over 20 years (argh!) experience as a performer.
My introduction to music was through classical training in practice and theory and I am very grateful for this grounding, but it was the revolution in contemporary musical theatre which has really inspired me. I wanted to teach singers to be brave with their voices…. so I went back to school…twice! This time around I am studying a Masters Degree in Voice, and am turning into something of a nerd. Oh yes, and there’s the secret country music fetish…
Over the past few years I have studied with some amazingly talented teachers and international experts in their field. The techniques I now coach are at the cutting edge of modern vocal technique, and I strive to keep learning in order to allow my students to step way beyond what they think they can achieve.
What My Students Think
I enjoy using the exercises Sadie has taught me and putting them into practice. Whether you want to learn new techniques and improve your range, or just blast out your favorite song, I highly recommend!
